Science Olympiad Team Places 18th at State Competition
Congratulations to the AMS Science Olympiad Team, who secured an 18th-place finish among 40 schools at the New York State Competition held in Syracuse this past weekend.
Following their 5th place qualification at Regionals, the team traveled to Syracuse on April 4-5 to compete in 23 events against top science students from across the state.
Medals earned in three events:
- Sonya Duggal and Mia Khoury earned 5th place in Anatomy and Physiology
- Jacob Kowalsky and Aarsh Kandavalli secured 9th place in Entomology
- Shrikar Patnaik and Mia Khoury claimed 10th place in Meteorology
Science Olympiad Advisors, Alyssa Stoller, Renee Geithner-Marron, David Ponteiro and Enjoli Joseph were exceptionally proud of the students. The team demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and team spirit among themselves and in interactions with other competing schools.
"They represented Ardsley in the best way possible," said Enjoli Joseph.
The Science Olympiad program challenges students in various STEM disciplines through competitive events, fostering critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving skills.
