Celebrating America's 250 Anniversary

Celebrating America's 250 Anniversary
A decorated door with patriotic bunting and a %22Welcome%22 banner.

Over 60 AMS students in Grades 5-8 participated in the America 250 Door Decorating Contest engaging students in historical and creative themes to commemorate our nation's 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. 18 teams of four stayed after school over the course of three days to create displays on classroom doors that demonstrate the theme of American Independence or simply display what they feel best represents our country.

The 6th Grade team of Savanna Impellizzeri, Hania Ali and Hera Ruy took 1st honors. We are proud of all our teams. They all did a great job decking the halls with red, white and blue as well as other symbols of our nation.

Thank you to the AMS teachers as well for volunteering their doors to be decorated.
