Angela Grady is Learning Ally's Teacher of the Week!

Congratulations to Angela Grady, who was named Teacher of the Week by Learning Ally! Angela was selected for this honor due to her dedication to literacy in her ELA classes, her recent certification in Wilson Reading, and her ongoing professional development, all of which reflect her commitment to advancing students’ reading skills.

Learning Ally highlights a teacher weekly on its Mighty app and across social media. The post praised Angela, saying, “Angela's belief in the potential of every student, combined with her unwavering support and structured approach, makes her an invaluable asset to our educational community. We’re proud to celebrate her remarkable impact and dedication!”

This is Angela’s 19th year as a special educator and her 16th at Ardsley Middle School. Throughout her career at AMS, she has taught a variety of courses, including Wilson Reading, CORE ELA for 6th-8th grades, co-taught Social Studies for 7th and 8th grades, Consultant Teacher Direct Social Studies, co-taught 8th-grade English, Study Skills, and ELA Academic Intervention Services (AIS). Each summer, she also teaches reading in the Extended School Year program at Ardsley High School. In addition, Angela has led professional development workshops on topics like differentiation, close reading, and co-teaching through Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES and the Edith Winthrop Teacher Center.

Angela’s approach reflects her dedication to addressing the varied needs of students with disabilities and reading challenges. She pursues ongoing professional development in literacy and the science of reading and is a member of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) to stay current on best practices. Angela’s focus on individualized learning pathways ensures that every student in her class is given the support needed to achieve success.

Angela Grady’s passion for teaching and her commitment to student success make her an invaluable part of the Ardsley community, inspiring both her students and colleagues alike.
