AMS Hiking Club Returns to the Trails!

AMS Hiking Club Returns to the Trails!

The AMS Hiking Club recently set out on a hike along a segment of the Old Croton Aqueduct trail, stretching from Irvington to Tarrytown. The students took in several historical sites during the trek, including one of the aqueduct system’s ventilators. The club members also passed by the former home of Madame C.J. Walker, recognized as the first self-made female millionaire in the United States.

n addition, hikers paused to view the “Yesterday” sculpture, which commemorates enslaved Africans in the Rivertowns, and the statue of Rip Van Winkle, the character created by author Washington Irving. The hike concluded at the Lyndhurst Gothic Revival Mansion, which provided picturesque views of the Hudson River.
